Thank you for all your love and support! We are OVERWHELMED with gratitude!

We've now increased our target to £70,000.

These additional funds will help us establish a much needed youth club for local Jewish teens.

Our aim: to provide teens with an enjoyable, non judgemental environment, and to create a positive Jewish experience.

Our vision: Inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, to empower teens to activate their inner, infinite potential, while cultivating a strong sense of mission, Jewish pride, and love of G-d.

Today is the day to make a difference.

Today, you can make sure, that through this crisis and beyond, the Epping Jewish community has a place to belong, join for celebrations, and provide support to one another.

For the next 48 hours, hundreds of people will join to ensure the stability of our community. Our goal is to raise £50,000 so that our budding community will not only survive but thrive.

Can you make a gift today to take this community into the future?

Only if you are able, please make a donation today. Any amount, big or small, will help the community.

How does this campaign help?

Chabad of Epping doesn't charge membership and is supported entirely by voluntary contributions.

This crowdfunding campaign will provide one third of the current annual operating budget.

The Story of our Community

Once upon a time, in a beautiful and friendly place called Epping, there lived a sweet family of four. Mum, Dad, Jacob and Sarah. There was no local Synagogue to attend, no local social groups to be part of and not many other Jewish children to play with. Kosher food was far away, and Shabbat and the Holidays were getting difficult to remember. But it was a wonderful place to live and so life continued. School kept the children happy, and work could not have been busier. Mum was content.

Until one day there was a knock at the door. “Who’s there?” called out Mum as she peered through the peephole, expecting the arrival of an Amazon delivery. To her bewilderment, there on her doorstep stood a man with a black fedora and brown beard... with no parcel in hand. “Mum, who is that?” Jacob chimed and came running to the door to see.

“Oh hi, I'm a Rabbi. My family has just moved to the area. I'm wondering if anyone living here might be Jewish?”, the upbeat voice replied on the other side of the door.

“What is a Rabbi doing here in Epping...on my doorstep?”, Mum wondered slowly, and she wasn’t sure why, but suddenly she felt like she was swallowing tears.

One and a half years ago, Mum cautiously opened the door to Rabbi Posen.

Those tears of joy have since returned, time and again.

Today, Jacob and Sarah feel a sense of Jewish pride. They have experienced a Shofar blowing in the Park, a Passover Seder and a Chanukah celebration.

Sometimes when Mum has energy, her house smells of her own homemade Challah that she wants her children to enjoy.

Mum could not be more grateful to have met Rabbi Posen back then. Today, she feels connected to her Judaism once again and wants to keep that connection strong.

Can you help? With your donation today, you are bringing joy and a sense of connection to 1000 local Jews.

Please donate today to ensure the Epping Jewish community continues to be cared for and have a place to call home.
