Over the past twelve months our dedicated team volunteers have clocked up a staggering 6790 miles delivering 6327 meals.

The Solihull Thursday Club has provided support for the elderly for the past 16 years. The excellence of their work was recognised with the award of the Queens Award For Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE for Charities. When the pandemic hit in March 2020 forcing the closure of their onsite activities Rabbi & Rebbetzen Pink sprung into action, cooking, packing and delivering nutritious fresh 3 course meals to vulnerable people throughout the Midlands.
Our onsite activities have now restarted with a full programme of meals and activities held at our community centre. However this has not led to a reduction of our off site work which has continued and even expanded. Over the past twelve months our dedicated team volunteers have clocked up a staggering 6790 miles delivering 6327 meals.

It’s more than just a meal. In addition to the food we have assisted with shopping and collecting medication. We have maintained regular contact with all our seniors to ensure that although they are at home they do not feel alone. Feeding triple the number of people than pre-pandemic has come at a cost. Although many of our seniors are able to make a contribution to the cost of their meals there are a significant number who can’t. We require £50,000 to enable us to continue our vital work for the next twelve months.

We do not have a large pool of people living in Solihull who we can turn to for support. Please partner with us today to help us continue our valuable work ensuring that the vulnerable elderly are home but not alone.
