I’d be the first to admit that this last year has been a huge challenge for us all.

So sadly no-one’s remained untouched by the uncertainty of this pandemic and the effect it’s had on all of us.

But you know, times like these also present unique opportunities.

Opportunities to make a difference. Opportunities to reach out in new ways – to be precisely what in our case and we’ve done our very very best, what a Synagogue, a Shul should be…..

That shoulder to lean on in troubling and difficult times.

That source of creativity and togetherness in milestone moments of celebration and in every avenue of life – that constant, that faithful, unbroken and unconditional sense of community where Shul plays and it does; an instrumental role in supporting one another.

Throughout this last year, I can say wholeheartedly that we at the UHC simply never stopped!

We found ways, we thought well out of the box, to give hope, to give comfort, to spread joy and song, to fight loneliness and protect mental health, to provide and to care for our members and the countless people the UHC touches throughout the world.

My vision for the UHC is for it to continue to be a flagship of faith, a vibrant and relevant Synagogue that continues to do different things in different ways and help bring heart and soul to our traditions and build – build for our future.

These High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur I ask, HELP US!

Whether you are a member, a friend, a supporter, whether you’ve been touched by our work, help us to transform Jewish life for the forthcoming year by donating whatever you can to the UHC.

We can choose to be affected by the world or we can choose to affect the world.
