As we prepare to observe the High Holiday, my thoughts are with friends and family in Israel — especially the elderly — who are alone or homebound. 

For many the High Holidays can be a difficult time. That’s why I’m deeply grateful for our Friends of Yad Sarah like you.

Through your compassionate and generous support, you’re a lifeline — a vital connection — for thousands of people throughout Israel, young and old. 

Even at the height of the pandemic, when demands for our services put seemingly impossible strains on our staffing and resources, we never turned anyone away. 

During those harrowing days when missiles rained down on Israel, despite roadblocks and rockets, Yad Sarah volunteers continued to provide services. Because more than 700,000 older adults were under threat, Yad Sarah’s volunteers worked non-stop fielding calls for assistance and contacting them to make sure they were safe.

Yad Sarah will always be there for every person in Israel who needs us.

We are committed to helping as many people in need in time for the High Holidays so they can focus on healing and being with their family, instead of being alone and filled with worry. 

This year Aaron Frenkel one of Yad Sarah’s most generous benefactors has pledged to match all Rosh Hashanah donations pound for pound.

Your donation will be doubled and will help us provide safety, care, and compassion to older men and women in Israel.
