Now more than ever, people are seeking connection and community, and we are answering that need by constantly seeking innovative ways to share real and relevant Judaism. Over the past few years, we’ve expanded our programming and reach with small- and large-group offerings and 1-on-1 meetings.

It’s critical that we continue building bigger so we can reach more and more Jewish families and singles in the Greater Washington area and beyond. We can only do that together with you. To that end, we’ve set an ambitious goal for our annual fundraiser to raise $200,000 in only 36 hours. As an extra incentive, a group of generous donors have agreed to DOUBLE every dollar you donate.

We’re a dynamic organization reaching out to Jews of all backgrounds, providing them with a connection to their own Jewish identity and sharing the beauty and relevance of traditional Jewish values and wisdom and the vitality and meaning those can afford.

We believe Judaism is a life-long journey of growth where every step is relevant and meaningful, so we work hard to provide a variety of settings and opportunities, both educational and experiential, where each person can find their unique path and experience Jewish living at their own pace according to their areas of interest.

The people who walk through our doors, both physical and virtual, engage in our various offerings:

  • Daily educational classes, small-group learning opportunities from educators in the community and guest speakers, and one-on-one study
  • Online cooking and wellness programs
  • Crash courses in different areas of Jewish observance, Hebrew reading, Holiday prep and the like
  • One-on-one tutoring and guidance through Jewish lifecycle events from birth through marriage and shiva
  • Shabbat and Holiday programs to deepen their understanding of Judaism through our explanatory services and by participating in one of our interactive classes and discussion groups, or just to socialize and experience a warm, welcoming Jewish community
  • Our unique High Holiday program, featuring guest speakers, interactive classes and workshops, beginners services, a hands-on kids program and more
  • Shabbat and Holiday dinners held in the homes of our community members
  • Social events like challah and babka bakes, Israeli wine tasting, backyard barbecues, or our lively Shabbatons
  • Young-family programs like communal Shabbat dinners, our monthly “Super Saturday,” and our annual highlight events: the Purim carnival, the Chanukah party and concert, the Shavuot ice cream party and the Sukkah hop
  • Kids programs and events in partnership with local schools and Jewish organizations
  • Annual trips to Israel for moms and dads, many for their first time, in partnership with Momentum, with the participants' experience continuing once they are back in the States with consistent follow-up programming geared to their growth

Because the Aish Center’s funding comes ONLY from private donors, we rely on the generosity of those who support our work and see our far-reaching results.
