Established in 1945, Yeshivas Chachmei Tsorfat in Aix-les-Bains, France is a symbol of Jewish resilience. The yeshiva's first students were young Holocaust survivors. The yeshiva later welcomed thousands of students from North Africa fleeing anti-Jewish persecution, as well as Persian and Syrian refugees. Offering every Jewish young man a loving, warm environment to grow in Torah is the core yeshiva objective. The yeshiva is defined by its diversity: Sefardi, Ashkenazi, Litvish, Chassidish, Moroccan, Tunisian, Algerian, Persian, Hungarian, and Yekkish students all learn together. In Aix-les-Bains, all traditions and backgrounds are special; everyone is united in love for the Torah.

The first Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Chaim Chajkin זצ"ל, was a close student of the revered Chofetz Chaim, and faithfully communicated his teacher's ethical principles to his own students. He was a bridge between the Torah of prewar European yeshivot and modern generations. The yeshiva is today headed by senior Rosh Yeshiva of Europe, Rabbi Yitzchak Weil שליט"א who continues to arm students with practical Torah knowledge they can transmit to their home communities. The yeshiva high school offers a rigorous general studies program fully accredited by the Ministry of Education, allowing students to earn a Baccalauréat diploma while remaining in a high-level yeshiva framework. Separately, a yeshiva ketana / kulo kodesh program prepares young men for elite Talmudic studies.

The Yeshiva of Aix-les-Bains is an engine for the expansion of Torah Judaism worldwide. More than perhaps any other institution, the yeshiva played a key role both in the rebirth of Jewish life in Europe after the Holocaust and in the growth of Torah institutions around the globe, especially in Eretz Yisrael. 300 schools and communities worldwide are led by Aix-les-Bains graduates who are chief rabbis, rabbis of towns or synagogues, roshei yeshiva, dayanim, and important magidei shiur. 500 graduates serve as teachers of Jewish subjects. The yeshiva takes special pride in its thousands of graduates who achieve professional success as Torah-true professionals, academics, scientists, and businessmen.

With your help the Yeshiva of Aix-les-Bains can continue to offer a world-class Torah education to the Jewish leaders of the future. France is home to the world's third largest Jewish community, and young men from Europe and abroad want to grow in Torah in the special atmosphere of Aix-les-Bains.

Help us secure the next chapter for a yeshiva that invests in every student as a future leader of Klal Yisrael.
