Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, yet 20% of children face exclusion from school due to academic, physical, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Without proper intervention, many of these children become disaffected, partially or fully excluded from education, and at risk of becoming ‘social dropouts.’ The long-term impact on their futures—and on society—is profound.
In response to this crisis, Ezer LaYeled was founded in April 2003 in North Manchester to provide struggling children with the support they need to succeed. Our mission is simple yet vital: to ensure that no child is left behind due to challenges beyond their control.
Ezer LaYeled offers assessments, advice, therapy, and advocacy for children experiencing difficulties related to illness or developmental weaknesses. Many of the children we help have been diagnosed with conditions such as DCD, ODD, ADHD, and ASD/PDD, while others face struggles that remain undiagnosed but significantly impact their daily lives.
Through our services—we help children unlock their potential, gain confidence, and reintegrate successfully into education and social life. By identifying the root causes of their struggles and providing tailored interventions, we empower both the child and their family to navigate these challenges with hope and resilience.
Ezer LaYeled primarily serves the Orthodox Jewish community in and around Manchester, working to prevent school exclusion and social disengagement. By offering early intervention and specialized support, we not only transform the lives of the children we work with but also reduce the long-term burden on public resources. Every child we help is a step towards a stronger, more inclusive community.
