In loving memory of Melvin Cravitz z”l

Melvin Cravitz was brutally murdered in the terrorist attack at Heaton Park Synagogue on Yom Kippur.

As many will know, Melvin was known for his huge smile and his unwavering kindness to everyone around him, always helping neighbours and friends of all faiths.

Melvin was the main support for his wife, Karen, who is in her 70s and now faces the unimaginable reality of being alone while coping with the trauma of what happened. He cared for her completely — doing the shopping, cooking, cleaning, and everything that made their home run.

Friends of the family are seeking to raise funds to help provide Karen with the care, counselling, and practical support she now desperately needs. The goal is to give her the stability and options to spend more time with her family, so that she is not left alone in Manchester as she rebuilds her life.

While the Cravitz family back the Heaton Park Crisis Campaign, which supports people directly affected by the events of Yom kIppur and the rebuilding effort, Rabbi Walker has fully endorsed this campaign focusing solely on helping Melvin’s widow and her family rebuild their lives in the wake of this unimaginable tragedy.
