At Hope House Children’s Hospices we know that Final Moments Matter and that the last moments of a child’s life should be as precious as their first.

That is why our mission is to make sure that no one faces the death of a child alone, so that every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it.

Our support of babies, children and young people begins at the very start of life with our Neonatal team who help families whose baby has been diagnosed with a complex or life-threatening condition during pregnancy, who has been born with a life-threatening condition or who has sadly died.

Our care for a child or young person at the end of their life includes symptom management and additional support for family members and carers before, during and after death.

We also offer care to any child or young person who has died in any circumstances, whether or not they have previously used our hospice services.

Our experienced team will do everything possible to meet the whole family's needs and wishes during this very difficult time. Our immediate care after death can take place at the hospices in our Snowflake Suites or within a family’s home. We have the equipment and the skills so that families can spend time saying goodbye in their own way and in their own time.

Counselling and bereavement support is also available to anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby, child or young person. Our care extends to brothers and sisters whose sibling has died who are supported by specially-trained staff either individually or in small, therapeutic groups.
