We’re building a place for all of us, and we need your help!

From its earliest beginnings in 1951, our shul and our community has been known for its warmth and its special atmosphere.

Today, under the inspired leadership of Rabbi and Rebbitzen Roodyn, it is also known for its dynamism, ambition and growth.

Finchley Central started as a minyan without a permanent home, moved to a long-standing, much-loved but ultimately unsuitable building in Redbourne Avenue, and then relocated to our current home on Victoria Avenue that was brimming with potential.

Perfectly located at the heart of N3, our building benefits from high ceilings, natural light and wonderful acoustics. But, with your help, we are going to transform it into the beautiful, modern and welcoming hub that the community needs and deserves.

Once completed, our building will be able to offer more services, access, programmes, and events that will enrich not only our members but the entire Jewish community of Finchley Central. A beautiful new kitchen and simcha hall will allow us to welcome more people to our home and enable others to host their special occasions there too.

This flexible space will make far better use of our existing site by installing a new kitchen, a movable partition between the main shul and adjoining room, as well as enhancing washrooms and storage. In addition, we will also be adding a mezzanine floor in the current side room to further increase the usable space.

Very recently, construction workers broke ground to begin the rebuild. So now it’s our turn to dig deep.

As a community, we have made a huge effort to come this far. Thanks to a generous legacy from a longstanding and beloved member (Sarah Moses z”l) and vital support from the Federation of Synagogues, we are nearly there!

We need to raise £300,000 this weekend to complete this all-important project. All donations will be doubled thanks to a wonderful group of matching donors.

Please consider joining us as our partners to deliver on this exciting, uplifting and transformational project.

Your support, at whatever level, will have a real and meaningful impact on Jewish life in Finchley.

Thank you
