ישיבת בית יוסף גייטסהעד, popularly known as Gateshead Yeshiva, is located in the North East of England. It is the largest yeshiva in Europe and considered today to be one of the most prestigious Yeshivos.

The yeshiva was founded in Gateshead in 1929 by Reb Dovid Dryan, with the Chofetz Chaim serving as an active patron and appointing the original head of the yeshiva. The first Rosh Yeshiva and Menahel were respectively Rabbi Nachman Landinski and Rabbi Eliezer Kahan, both alumni of the Novardok Yeshiva network and both of whom had escaped Communist Russia's religious persecution.

Today the Yeshiva boasts a diverse range of Bochrim from around the world. The Yeshiva is headed by Moron Rosh HaYeshiva HoRav HaGaon Avrohom Gurwitz Shlit”a supported  by the Mashgiach, Magidei Shiurim and Shoalim uMeshivim.

The current annual turnover is £4m. Whilst parents do their upmost to contribute towards the Yeshiva’s expenses, the Yeshiva has been operating on a monthly deficit of circa £100k. Consequently, the Yeshiva has now found itself in a large debt and is in a serious need for financial assistance to cover the debt and be put on its feet for the coming few years.

Filling this financial gap is a burden on the Rosh HaYeshiva Shlit”a shoulders and the Rosh HaYeshiva Shlit”a is now asking for assistance to shoulder the burden.
