Neuberger Berman

Neuberger Berman are once again supporting the Honeypot Children’s Charity, to give young carers the support they so very much deserve. Young carers have hopes and dreams too: freedom to play, success in school, making new friends, or simply relief from stress and worry. This Honeypot appeal is really important to give young carers the care and respite they vitally need to help them achieve their greatest wishes. Thank you.

Afiniti

Afiniti and Honeypot have had an amazing year together! This year alone Afiniti has raised £14,700 to support young carers across the UK. With themed fundraisers, the Summer Big Give and Honeypot's Comedy Night, just to name a few, everyone at Afiniti has gone above and beyond and we could not be more proud.

With Christmas on the horizon, we want to help make young carers' hopes and dreams come true! Please donate to support Honeypot children and see your donation DOUBLED!

MUSK - Milton Ukulele Strummers Klub

MUSK - Milton Ukulele Strummers Klub - is a community ukulele group based in New Milton, Hampshire. The group, which is run by husband and wife team, Pete and Cis Davis, has been running for around ten years and has more than fifty members.

MUSK aims to provide a fun-based opportunity for people to make new friends, learn to play the ukulele and participate in fundraising musical events around the southern part of The New Forest and its surroundings. These events have included street performances, residential care homes, village halls and golf, tennis and bowling clubs as well as hosting the New Forest Ukulele Festival, which is now in its sixth year and attracts groups from as far afield as Bristol and Milton Keynes.

In recent years, MUSK has donated the bulk of the funds raised via these musical events to the Honeypot Children's Charity. The group's membership includes many parents and grandparents and the work and ideals of Honeypot have great appeal for our membership.

Like most urban and rural areas in the UK, South Hampshire and East Dorset contain many children living under hugely stressful conditions - children with little opportunity to live a fun-filled childhood. At MUSK, we love to provide a fun-filled environment for our group members. It seems only fitting that the funds we raise are used to do the same for these under-priviledged children.

Young carers have hopes and dreams too: freedom to play, success in school, making new friends, or relief from stress and worry. But they shoulder immense physical and mental responsibilities that place their wellbeing at significant risk.

Children as young as 5 are taking on surrogate adult roles to look after loved ones who cannot cope without their support due to sickness, disability, addiction, or mental health problems. They provide ongoing emotional support, personal care, look after younger siblings, and undertake household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and shopping.

Honeypot's early intervention support for young carers is designed to alleviate social isolation, reduce stress and anxiety, build confidence, and reverse educational underachievement. Our programme of wrap-round support for children aged 5 to 12 includes:

  • Making happy memories on Respite Breaks at a Honeypot Houses, giving them the chance to relax and just be happy, carefree children.
  • Building resilience, confidence, and social skills on Educational Booster Breaks.
  • Continuing friendships and experiencing a first trip to the seaside, riding on a rollercoaster, or visiting an animal petting farm on Memory Making Days.
  • Wellbeing Grants to purchase items that support educational or personal development, such as books, laptops, sporting equipment and extra-curricular activities, as well as family life essentials such as a new bed or washing machine.
  • Healthy eating tips and dietary advice through our Healthy Eating and Nutrition Service.
  • Pastoral Support for young carers and their families when they are struggling to cope with life's challenges.

Please donate to our Christmas Appeal and help young carers to achieve their hopes and dreams by getting the support they vitally need. Your donation will be doubled by our generous match funder. Thank you.
