This year, more than ever before, the Jewish Life Centre must continue to grow in our ability to facilitate a sense of pride and unity for every single Jewish person in Elstree & Borehamwood and beyond, through love, warmth, and meaningful connection. "Strong and Proud” This year we will be focussing on creating new opportunities for the community to come together and support each other in finding that natural sense of Jewish pride, Jewish strength, and Jewish unity. With so much antisemitism around us, we must make sure our efforts are tripled in bringing light, peace, and love! There is a massive demand for more programmes, events, and classes at the JLC and in order to meet the increased demand the Jewish Life Centre must continue to grow the team and infrastructure. Over the past few years, the incredible growth of Chabad of Elstree & Borehamwood and the Jewish Life Centre has been enabled by local donors each fulfilling their important part. This year, more than ever before, we must continue to grow in our ability to facilitate a sense of pride and unity for every single Jewish person in Elstree & Borehamwood through love, warmth and meaningful connection. 

 

Our central theme moving into the coming year is "Strong and Proud”. We will be focussing on creating new opportunities for the community to come together and support each other in finding that natural sense of Jewish pride, Jewish strength, and Jewish unity. With so much antisemitism around us, we must make sure our efforts are tripled in bringing light, peace, and love! 

 

Why we need you to support the Jewish Life Centre's "Strong and Proud" Campaign:

  • This year, more than ever before, the Jewish community is looking for a place to come and feel connected, proud, strong, and unified.

  • One of the extremely important new programme we have added this year is "Friendship Circle" which integrates children with additional needs in the community. We have done Sunday Circles, and paired teenage buddies to go to their home and have a weekly playdate. This has brought so much love to the children and additional skills to the teenage volunteers. 

  • We have brought on new staff this year and plan to add additional staff in the coming year to help support our ongoing growth.

  • Since 2011 we have have made it our mission to bring a relatable, immersive, and impactful Judaism to our young people and older people alike.

  • In the past year the Jewish Life Centre has cared for hundreds of families in need of material, physical, emotional, and spiritual support through a range of programmes; care packages given to help break the feeling of isolation of many, hot soup during winter months, and bar and bat mitzvah classes supporting the next generation of our youth in their journey to finding a meaningful and immersive judaism.

  • One on one care, is our foundation and everything else follows from there. At Chabad, we count every individual soul as a whole world on their own. We believe that each individual requires tailor-made love and care to support them in their journey though their Jewish life.

  • There is a massive demand for more programmes, events and classes and in order to meet the increased demand the Jewish Life Centre must continue to grow the team and infrastructure. Events and clubs are being filled to capacity, and we need to grow to keep up with the demand! 

 

The most important reason why you should support Chabad, is because we are here to bring a healthy, vibrant future to Judaism, and the best investment to future generations!
