In a city full of packed classrooms and high hopes for the future, Mekor Hachinuch embraces students with educational challenges in parallel classes of their own – and empowers them to become kids who can. Kids who can master their learning challenges, mainstream back into traditional classrooms before eighth grade, attend all-star high schools, and give back one hundred times over to the community who believed in them from the start. 

Now, after 22 years of life-changing work, the survival of Mekor Hachinuch hangs in the balance – and with it, the lives of kids who can, if only they’re given the chance.

Every child has the potential to be a kid who can.

While Mekor Hachinuch equips students facing educational challenges to mainstream back into traditional classrooms before high school, our specialized Yesod Hachinuch track sets children with more pronounced learning differences on the path toward lifelong independence.
