Our Story:
To ensure its future after over 50 years of providing high-quality secular and Jewish education, we are launching the largest fundraising campaign in the school's history.
In preparation, we spoke to dozens of former pupils, many of whom recalled singing in the school choir as one of their favourite childhood memories.
This inspired us to produce a song for the campaign, enlisting 90 past and present pupils to sing from their hearts, coming together as one. Makeshift recording studios were set up, not just in South Manchester, but all over the world - from London to LA, Bangkok to Broughton Park!
North Cheshire meant and still means the world to the children of our South Manchester community, showing how essential it is that our school survives and thrives, for the future generations to come.
Why a fundraising campaign?
In the last 12 months North Cheshire has faced a 26% cut in government funding (£180k loss), alongside a 40% rise in utilities, a 35% increase in catering costs, rising salaries, and a £190k shortfall for SEN provisions. This has left the school in a significant deficit.
What will North Cheshire do with the amount raised?
If we achieve our goal of raising £400,000 into The North Cheshire Jewish Primary School Charitable Trust, we would have the ability to:
- Establish long term sustainability for the future generations of Jewish children in South Manchester.
- Maintain Jewish values and traditions – the absolute bedrock of the school’s existence.
- Improve resource provision so teaching staff can better support our children along their learning journeys.
- Make investments in the school’s physical and learning infrastructure.
If we beat our goal we can of course achieve so much more.
