PaL – Phone and Learn – United Through Learning

Please join us in our mission, by donating and helping more Jewish people connect and be United Through Learning.

PaL has been providing Jewish learning opportunities, on the phone, online and in person for over 15 years. Now more than ever, the demand for remote learning is growing.  PaL is there to set up, nurture and maintain these wonderful learning partnerships which often develop into close friendships.  PaL tutors and partners connect together by sharing the beauty of Torah and Judaism inspiring one another to become closer to Hashem, to the Torah and each other.

With our key annual fundraising events cancelled and the demand growing, your help is needed more than ever to support us and secure our future. The dozens of new learning partnerships created during lockdown, encourage us to continue to unite through learning.

PaL was founded by Rabbi Paysach Krohn at a shiur commemorating the sheloshim of Sammy Homburger z"l. The concept of connecting people through Torah learning is such a fitting tribute to Sammy. PaL and all that we do is in his memory and should be a zechus for Sammy.

PaL in numbers:

For over 15 years, PaL has been able to provide flexible Jewish learning opportunities to Jewish people across the UK and beyond.  

Over 3,200 people have learnt through PaL during this time.

In the past year alone 130 new learning partnerships have been established.

Over 16,640 hours of Torah learning each year and growing.

The longest learning partnership have been learning for over 14 years.

The biggest distance between a PaL tutor and partner is 5,629 miles.

The oldest PaL partner currently learning is 85 years old.
