Demand for St Oswald’s Hospice’s Bereavement and Social Work Services are increasing, while costs to deliver them continue to rise. More and more local people need their support, both before, during and after the death of a loved one.

While these services are offered to adults and children from across the north east, free of charge, the hospice’s bereavement and social work services currently receive no statutory funding. Together, they cost £300,000 every year and all of this money must be raised through charitable giving, to allow them continue.

That’s why I’m asking you to show your support to our St Oswald’s Hospice Giving Day. For just 33 hours, from 8am on Wednesday 17th December, every donation made will be doubled, meaning your gift will go twice as far in helping families when they need it most.

Let’s come together this Giving Day to raise £300,000 and ensure St Oswald’s Hospice can continue providing comfort, care, and hope to those facing loss — now and in the future.
