Tashbar Primary School, based in the heart of Edgware, caters for the growing communities of Edgware and Borehamwood.

Founded in 2004 under the guidance of Rabbi Nechemia Jaffe with just 7 boys, the school now boasts over 200 pupils.

Our Head of Kodesh, Rabbi Leitner, ably leads the kodesh department of our school. He, along with his team of outstanding Mechanchim are continuously investing and innovating to keep the learning alive and invigorating.

The Rebbes show a sense of unparalleled commitment helping each talmid build on the foundations he has already acquired and advancing him to the next level. Working on ones middos and showing due care for each other in school, is regularly stressed on.

Mrs Danan, our recently appointed Head of Chol, has been revolutionary in her short time at Tashbar. In her role, she leads and guides the afternoon staff and ensures that the National Curriculum is covered in its entirety whilst following the school ‘s hashkafa and ethos.

Our Chol department prides itself on its high calibre of staff and on the quality of teaching and learning that takes place across the school.  Teachers use a wide range of teaching styles and strategies to ensure all learning styles are met and no child is left behind.

At Tashbar, we recognise the importance of making learning meaningful and memorable whilst encouraging positive attitudes thus developing the children’s self-esteem and confidence.

As the school continues to grow our current building can no longer facilitate our needs. There is inadequate classroom space, offices, 1:1 rooms, assembly hall and meeting rooms. All this impedes our ability to provide the world-class education we aspire to deliver.

We therefore embarked on an ambitious building project. The journey began when in 2019 we were able, with a great deal of סייעתא דשמיא, to purchase our current premises. A special thanks to Mr Moshe Sinitsky for enabling this to happen.

Shortly thereafter, we set upon applying for planning permission for a new three storey building. After much back and forth, permission was ב"ה obtained in February of this year. Following this, we immediately began with the task of appointing all the relevant professionals to prepare this project and ready it for tender. We put on record the tireless work of Mr Chaim Haleviim and his team at BTP helping us to design a state-of-the-art building, whilst ensuring that every penny is spent wisely.

We have recently received the tender documents back with a build cost of £3.5 million.

Whilst all this has been ongoing we have been working diligently to raise funds for the project. With much סייעתא דשמיא we have secured to date over £1.5 million.

This still leaves us with a significant shortfall to get to our ultimate goal.

We therefore turn to you to please help us actualize our dream and give our תינוקות של בית רבן the opportunity to learn, progress and thrive in bright and modern facilities.
