The Fed is the Manchester Jewish Community’s safety net
– its key provider of social care services which benefited
1 in 7 Jewish households across the region,
or 6,500 people, of all ages, in 2021.
Our life-transforming and, at times, lifesaving services help people conquer domestic and sexual abuse, neglect, loneliness, poverty, carer burn-out, mental ill-health and homelessness . . .
We are a unique charity offering:
Our Community Advice and Support Team (CAST) supports people on a one-to-one basis through ongoing professional casework or one-off advice and signposting - from tiny babies to people at the end of life.
It also provides group support, social and training opportunities, special events and outings for people struggling with emotional or mental health needs, family carers, the bereaved and the lonely.
Our Volunteer Services Department, including our NextGen Volunteering Project (for volunteers aged 18 to 40) and My Voice Project support people of any age both individually and in group settings such as ‘coffee-stops’. Individual support includes (not exclusively) helping people attend medical appointments, befriending and doing their essential shopping.
