Tomchei Shabbos Yerushalayim was established by a few Avreichim who saw their friends in Kollel struggling with purchasing the more expensive necessities for a basic Shabbos and Yom Tov. Their friends were individuals from regular American and English backgrounds, who chose to exchange a life of comfort in their hometown to raise their families in Eretz Yisrael. It began small, by providing these families with fresh meat, chicken and fish every month. In a dignified manner, the food is delivered to the door discreetly.

Yom Tov time comes with its own joy and fresh challenges. Many more families can use assistance during Tishrei and Nissan. Tomchei Shabbos Yerushalayim branched out and addressed the needs of over 250 families. They provide fresh meat and cleaned chicken from the butcher as well as sliced salmon fillet. They also deliver a case of Kedem grape juice and Kedem wine before Pesach.

As more Rosh Kollelim have reached out to Tomchei Shabbos Yerushalayim with names of individuals in their Kollelim who can use some extra discreet assistance, the demand is growing.
