Bendigamos is a welcoming and accessible Jewish community that has grown to become one of the largest Jewish communities in the Netherlands in 9 years. In addition to synagogue services, Bendigamos offers dozens of social, cultural, educational, and religious activities and are attracting about 2000 unique visitors each year.
Our main goal is to strenghten and grow Jewish life in and around Amsterdam. We have created an environment in which we each year inspire more and more Jews to celebrate, share and further develop their Jewish identity. Bendigamos offers a happy, positive and informal atmosphere, while preserving and reviving the original Amsterdam Portuguese and traditions and adhering to halacha.
With are right now in the process of securing our own community center, so that we can add daily activities and programming for all age groups, workplaces and daily meals for students and serve up to 6000 unique visitors a year.

We are now raising for two causes: for our community center and for a House for Jewish Students.
House for Jewish Students
Bendigamos has opened a house for Jewish Students, with a kosher kitchen. As of December 1st 2025, we have 4 students living there that will also spend 4-6 hours a week on promoting Jewish student life. This makes us the only Jewish student house like this in Amsterdam.
This project gives a tremendous and necessary boost to our community. However we are still in need of about €12.000 per year to break-even. We are hoping either for donations, loans or sponsorships. Please contact us if you would like to support this beautiful initiative.
Community Center
We are now raising the final €110.000 funding to be able to secure our own community center that allows us to bring Jews together 24/7. Especially after October 7th our kids, students, young professionals need a save haven where they can freely study, work, meet and be together and recharge individually and collectively.
Bendigamos is receiving Rabbinical support from the London Sephardi Beth Din.
