Mikvah Foundation UK

Communities in less established areas across the UK often have trouble accessing a fully functioning kosher mikvah. In some areas there is none at all. In others, existing facilities have fallen into disrepair. This means that those wishing to access a mikvah need to undertake long journeys or rely on facilities that are no longer fit for purpose.

Mikvah Foundation UK was established to help communities build, restore, and maintain mikvaos that are beautiful, accessible, and fully halachically kosher, allowing families to fulfil this vital mitzvah with dignity and ease.

The Chofetz Chaim writes in Sefer Taharas Yisroel that building a mikvah takes precedence over all other mitzvos, including building a shul or purchasing a Sefer Torah. A mikvah is one of the key foundations of Yiddishe family life, and its impact extends across generations.

From planning and fundraising through to construction and rabbinic oversight, the Foundation brings together rabbinic, professional, and communal expertise to ensure each project is delivered responsibly and to the highest building and halachic standards.

Mikvah Foundation UK has already supported projects in Borehamwood, Southend, Canvey Island, and Whitefield, with a new mikvah currently under construction in Bristol and further projects in refurbishment and development.

Every mikvah strengthens taharah and is an investment in the spiritual future of an entire community.
