Chaverim

Picture the scene, it’s a hot summers day and you have  just come back from an afternoon trip with your 1 year old from the park. On the way home you decided to go shopping, the car is filled with all the delicious foods you need for dinner. When you get home you get out of the car and your mobile rings, it’s your best friend who you haven’t spoken to in days. While bringing the shopping in the from the car you speak with them on the phone. Once you have finished unloading you go inside the house and begin to unload and you scream, where’s the baby, where’s the baby and you run back to the car to find him sitting in a locked car. You immediately call your husband in a panic. It’s the baby, its locked in the car. Without hesitation your husband says “CALL CHAVERIM NOW”.

You immediately dial the Chaverim number and tell the dispatcher that your 1 year old baby is locked in the car.

A member is dispatched within seconds and you can finally breath again.

 

Chaverim North West London has been operating for over 10 years in the North West London Kehillah.

When the organisation started we received very few calls on a daily basis, most of which were flat battery calls.

Now over 10 years on and with a much larger and active community we can receive up to 20 calls a day ranging from a flat battery to someone locked out of their house or a baby locked in a bathroom.

In some instances jobs that need carrying out require the knowledge of a professional in that field. For this reason Chaverim has a close relationship with many fields of work, ranging from plumbers, if you have a leak, to lock smiths if your lock brakes and many more

Due to the increase in calls and the need to recruit for new members, Chaverim are in desperate need of new and more up to date equipment to help serve the community better and more efficiently.

With the money we are raising we will purchase new and more up to date equipment to provide a better and faster service, we also intend on introducing a Shabbos goy as per the high request and demand within the Kehillah. The Shabbos goy will assist with duties ranging from someone locked out of their house to someone locked inside a room and other halachically permissible duties.

Chaverim North West London operates for 8am to Midnight.
