Elevating the Sefardic Torah World for Over Two Decades.

In the span of over twenty years, Zichron Binyamin/Kollel Ohel Rachel – better known as Rabbi Bitton’s Kollel- Lakewood– has elevated the landscape of the Sefardic Jewish community in the New York-New Jersey area and beyond.

It began with the vision of Rabbi Yosef Bitton Shlita to develop Sefardic talmidei chachamim who would toil in Torah and eventually become marbitzei Torah transforming the lives of their fellow Jews. This Kollel would focus not on how many yungeleit it could produce, but on their quality. With the hadracha and encouragement of Harav Elya Svei zt”l, Rabbi Bitton opened his Kollel, and now, over twenty years later, the results of his efforts and vision speak for themselves.

  • 40 full day yungeleit
  • Afternoon Kollel for Rebbeim
  • Over 100 Alumni, talmidei chachamim chashuvim, and 90 of them are now marbitzei Torah across the Sefardic Torah world
  •  A beautiful building that is home not only for Kollel Ohel Rachel, but a makom Torah for the broader Zichron Binyamin community, including tefillot and learning at all hours of the day
  • Countless students of these alumni are benefitting from their Torah knowledge, love, care, concern, and commitment
  • An inestimable impact upon the growth of the Sefardic Torah community

Zichron Binyamin is raising $360,000 in 36 hours to be able to continue and to grow the great transformation it has created during the past two decades.

The individuals, families, and communities who have benefitted and grown in their Torah learning and living thanks to Rabbi Bitton’s Kollel are ready to show their gratitude with this campaign.

They are eager to express their hakarat hatov to the avreichim who have become their Rebbeim, Rabbanim and mentors.
