Every Moment Counts Appeal

Every moment counts for people facing a life-limiting illness, but patients are most commonly referred to St Margaret’s Hospice just two months before the end of their life. With your support, we hope to reach people earlier in their journey with a life-limiting illness, so we can help them live well for as long as possible and spend precious moments with the people they love.

Every year, St Margaret’s provides free specialist care and support to over 4,800 people in Somerset through our Community Nursing team, In-Patient Unit, Sunflower Centre day hospices, 24-hour Advice Line, and many other specialist services. While currently around 30% of our costs are covered by the NHS, the rest of our funds are raised by our amazing supporters.

We are determined to help people in Somerset access our care sooner. We’re not just here for patients at the end of their life – we’re also here to improve their quality of life. We know that people benefit far more from all areas of our hospice care when they’re referred to us earlier, but we need your help.

Our plan for the next five years is to enhance our care by better understanding the unmet need and reaching people across Somerset earlier in their disease progression, so we can give patients more opportunities to spend quality time with family and friends and do the things they love.

With your help, we hope to raise £140,000 to support our plans to reach more people in our community much earlier in their journey with a life-limiting illness.

All donations (up to £70,000) made by 9pm on Friday 20 June will be DOUBLED!
