Gateshead Kehilla Kollel stands at the centre of a historic transformation in the landscape of Torah in the UK.
Founded in Elul 5781 under the direction and auspices of Maran Rosh HaYeshiva Shlita, the Kehilla Kollel was established with a clear and far-reaching vision: to build a strong, sustainable Merkaz haTorah that could shape the future of Torah life in the UK and beyond.
Today, that vision is no longer theoretical.
The Gateshead Kehilla Kollel is home to over 100 Yungerleit, learning across five Chaburos, with further expansion already underway. The Beis Medrash is alive from morning until night - filled with chaburos, shiurim and different limudim, all united by a shared commitment to Torah lishmah.
The Beis Hamedrash has become a magnet, shaping the rhythm of daily life. Homes across the Kehilla feel its influence. Gateshead Kehilla Kollel has become part of the fabric, life and joy of Gateshead.
At the heart of this stands the principle of "Hanechmodim - The Treasured."
The Yungerman immersed in his learning, living fully in an Olam haTorah, is the greatest treasure of Klal Yisroel. To support him, to enable his menuchas hanefesh, and to build an environment in which he and his family can flourish is both a responsibility and a privilege.
As articulated at the recent London Dinner, this is not merely a local success story. The long-term vision is to establish a central Makom Torah - a place that can stand alongside the great mekomos Torah of other continents.
With an annual budget of £2.2 million, the task of this moment is not to begin building, but to secure and strengthen what has already been established - ensuring consistency, stability and the ability to grow responsibly, however large the Kollel becomes and however far its reach extends.
What is being built cannot be carried by a few alone - and that is precisely what makes this moment so powerful.
Just as the Yungerleit enter the Beis Medrash morning after morning, leaving the outside world behind, so too there is an opportunity for each of us to be connected - day after day - to their learning.
This is נאמנים: a way for everyone to take part - faithfully - through a simple commitment of £1 a day. A small daily act, shared by many, becomes the foundation of something enduring. It allows everyone to be a נאמן - standing with Torah in every seder, every sugya, every day.
Throughout history, the great centres of Torah were built by those who recognised a rare moment of possibility and chose to step forward. Today, such a moment is unfolding before our eyes. Those who support Gateshead Kehilla Kollel are not funding an idea - they are joining a living reality, day after day, and becoming partners in a future that will be remembered for generations.
