Some of you may know that since 2007, I have been supporting the work of the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET). HET do incredible things to share the stories of Holocaust survivors to ensure that generations to come will never grow up not knowing what evil was endured in the 1930s and 1940s. We have a duty to remember and share.

It has been my privilege to work for over two decades at the Holocaust Educational Trust and particularly special to work with our incredible survivors - to know their stories of unbearable loss, but also their enduring humanity, kindness and strength.

Today, we are at a crucial juncture. The eyewitnesses to the most horrifying crimes in history are becoming older and frailer, and dwindling in number. It is time for the next generation to carry their legacy into the future.

Through our work: training the teachers; inspiring our young Ambassadors; offering students the unique experience of hearing from a survivor; and taking them to the places where history happened, we will carry the baton.

Please support me, my amazing and dedicated team and the Holocaust Educational Trust to fulfil our mission.

Dear friends

Can we ask for your help?
Jonny and I are great believers that education and remembrance are critical to prevent hatred and bigotry. That's why we support the Holocaust Educational Trust (https://www.het.org.uk). Their aim is to educate young people from every background about the Holocaust and the important lessons to be learned for today.
On Sunday 3rd October we will be fundraising for the 'THEIR LEGACY, OUR FUTURE' Campaign. This will go live at 10am for 36 hours. All donations will be matched by existing supporters. We will be sending a fundraising link on Sunday morning.
The Holocaust Educational Trust has been leading Holocaust education in the United Kingdom for over 30 years. Your support will ensure they meet and exceed the challenges of the next 30 years, as the Holocaust fades further into history and eyewitnesses become fewer and frailer. The Trust makes a difference by:
' Honouring the victims and survivors by ensuring that their testimonies are recorded and shared to schools and universities across the UK
' Inspiring thousands of students across the UK to learn about the Holocaust
' Ensuring teachers across the UK have the knowledge, skills and confidence to teach this challenging subject
' Creating a movement of Ambassadors ' a generation committed to sharing what they have learnt amongst their peers and empowering young people to stand up against inequality and racism
The Holocaust Educational Trust will ensure that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of the survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes. For their legacy, and for our future.
Your support will be so gratefully appreciated.

Thank you
Shani & Jonny

The Holocaust Educational Trust is very close to my heart. As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I realise just how important it is to educate future generations about what happened.
We are working hard at the Trust to ensure that the stories of survivors are recorded and captured in such a way that future generations will be able to hear their stories beyond their lifetimes. We need the funds to make sure we can invest in the latest technology to preserve the memories of survivors for the future.
Please join me in supporting this crucial work.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

We are supporting the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Their Legacy, Our Future Campaign to help them raise funds to continue their vital work.

We have supported the Holocaust Educational Trust for a number of years. It is a wonderful organisation, and thanks to their work, thousands of young people have had the opportunity to hear from a survivor.

In a time where antisemitism is on the rise, it is more critical than ever that the Holocaust is being taught in schools around the country, and that young people are given the tools to stand up against antisemitism.

Please help us ensure that they have the funds they need to ensure that they can continue doing hugely important work, and we want to do our bit in ensuring they have the funds to keep doing what they do.

As a teenager, I visited Auschwitz. I had a basic awareness of the Holocaust ' as most Jewish children do- but, at that time, only by way of a reference point of historical importance.
So, I was unprepared; unprepared to truly be able to grasp the scale and capacity for evil focussed on conducting the most heinous, monstrous episodes humanity has seen. The impact of that trip was profound' triggering a determination to better understand and a duty to help ensure that such unimaginable suffering was not in vain. And it was not until, some weeks later, I was invited to speak with a survivor that the true weight of that responsibility hit home. She told me 'There will come a time they will say it didn't happen, when no survivors are left to tell the truth.'
Many years on, those words are more prophetic and carry more importance than ever.
Time might not heal but it will take away; in the coming years, those who experienced the atrocities will no longer be with us in person; no longer able to share their experiences and educate us.
I am therefore enormously proud to be supporting Holocaust Educational Trust's 'Their Legacy, Our Future Campaign' to help raise funds to continue their vital work. And I hope you can help support them too, in any way you feel able.
Thanks to the work of HET, thousands of young people also have the opportunity to hear from a survivor, as well as ensuring the Holocaust is being taught in schools and young people of all walks of life stand up against antisemitism today.
HET has been leading Holocaust education in the United Kingdom for over 30 years. Your support will ensure they meet and exceed the challenges of the next 30 years, as the Holocaust fades further into history and eyewitnesses become fewer and frailer.
The Holocaust Educational Trust's vision is a future where every young person, in every corner of the country, from every background knows about Europe's darkest days.
HET works tirelessly to ensure that it always has a central place in our national consciousness. They ensure survivor testimonies are shared to schools, universities and offices across the UK and equip and educate teachers. Empowering young people to stand up against inequality and racism wherever it rears its ugly head. Whenever, wherever, and however young people are learning, they will have access to memorable learning experiences, thanks to the incredible efforts of the Holocaust Educational Trust.
HET will ensure that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of our precious survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes. For the survivors and for those who were murdered. For the generations that came after and the generations lost.
Please help me ensure HET's work continues by making a donation- however large or small you can. For their legacy, and for our future.

The work of the Holocaust Educational Trust is so inspiring and something I have seen the impact of first-hand. I joined a HET trip to Auschwitz in 2007 and the experience: what I saw, felt, breathed, will remain with me for the rest of time. I've had the privilege of sharing a number of panels with Holocaust survivors and heard their personal testimony. But more importantly I've seen the impact HET's work has had on the next generation. I've met the HET young Ambassadors who do so much in their communities to counter hate and stand up to discrimination. I have taken away two key lessons: where hatred can lead when it is left unchallenged and to never forget the past.

Thanks to the work of HET, thousands of young people have the opportunity to hear from a Holocaust survivor as well as ensuring the Holocaust is being taught in schools and young people are standing up against antisemitism today.

If you can, please help me ensure HET can continue it works by making a donation.

The Holocaust Educational Trust will ensure that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of our precious survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes.

For their legacy, and for our future.
For the survivors and for those who were murdered.
For the generations that came after and the generations lost.
Empowering young people to stand up against inequality and racism wherever it rears its ugly head.
Combatting the antisemitism that did not end with the liberation of the camps, and that still needs fighting to this day.
For education, for sharing truth. For telling and re-telling their testimonies.
To remember and not to forget. To listen and to hear.
The Holocaust Educational Trust. Their Legacy, Our Future.

Their Legacy, Our Future

The Holocaust Educational Trust has been leading Holocaust education in the United Kingdom for over 30 years.  With the Holocaust fading further into history and antisemitism on the rise, our work is needed more today than ever before.

Our vision is a future where every young person, in every corner of the country, from every background knows about Europe’s darkest days. Even when the Holocaust is no longer in living memory, we are working tirelessly to ensure that it always has a central place in our national consciousness.

Whenever, wherever, and however young people are learning, they will have access to memorable learning experiences, with a window to a world we cannot forget. These young people will go on to become Ambassadors for the truth of the past, sharing what they have learnt amongst their peers and combatting antisemitism in the present.

The Holocaust Educational Trust will ensure that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of our precious survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes. For their legacy, and for our future.

During the 36 hours from 10am Sunday to 10pm Monday, every pound donated during this live campaign will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of our matched funders. These vital funds will ensure that the Trust can continue to deliver high-quality, innovative education that will leave a mark for generations. Every year we need to raise £1.2million from our Fundraising Appeal to ensure our work can develop and that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of our precious survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes.

For their legacy, and for our future.

The Trust makes a difference by:

  • Honouring the 6 million men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust, ensuring that people across the country understand what happened during Europe’s darkest days
  • Ensuring that young people everywhere have an opportunity to hear the stories of Holocaust survivors, putting a name and a face to the unimaginable statistics of the Holocaust
  • Inspiring hundreds of thousands of students across the UK to learn about the Holocaust through memorable and engaging lessons
  • Ensuring teachers across the UK have the knowledge, skills and confidence to teach this challenging subject
  • Creating a movement of young Ambassadors – a generation committed to sharing what they have learnt amongst their peers and combatting antisemitism in the present
