Their Legacy, Our Future

The Holocaust Educational Trust has been leading Holocaust education in the United Kingdom for over 30 years.  With the Holocaust fading further into history and antisemitism on the rise, our work is needed more today than ever before.

Our vision is a future where every young person, in every corner of the country, from every background knows about Europe’s darkest days. Even when the Holocaust is no longer in living memory, we are working tirelessly to ensure that it always has a central place in our national consciousness.

Whenever, wherever, and however young people are learning, they will have access to memorable learning experiences, with a window to a world we cannot forget. These young people will go on to become Ambassadors for the truth of the past, sharing what they have learnt amongst their peers and combatting antisemitism in the present.

The Holocaust Educational Trust will ensure that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of our precious survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes. For their legacy, and for our future.

During the 36 hours from 10am Sunday to 10pm Monday, every pound donated during this live campaign will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of our matched funders. These vital funds will ensure that the Trust can continue to deliver high-quality, innovative education that will leave a mark for generations. Every year we need to raise £1.2million from our Fundraising Appeal to ensure our work can develop and that whatever the global circumstances, the stories of our precious survivors are learned about and shared beyond their lifetimes.

For their legacy, and for our future.

The Trust makes a difference by:

  • Honouring the 6 million men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust, ensuring that people across the country understand what happened during Europe’s darkest days
  • Ensuring that young people everywhere have an opportunity to hear the stories of Holocaust survivors, putting a name and a face to the unimaginable statistics of the Holocaust
  • Inspiring hundreds of thousands of students across the UK to learn about the Holocaust through memorable and engaging lessons
  • Ensuring teachers across the UK have the knowledge, skills and confidence to teach this challenging subject
  • Creating a movement of young Ambassadors – a generation committed to sharing what they have learnt amongst their peers and combatting antisemitism in the present
