As the Project Manager of JAMH, I’ve had the privilege of being there for those who call us in their time of need. Over 760 people in the Manchester Jewish community have shared their stories with us—stories filled with tears, pain, and heartache.

When they call, they’re looking for hope. And at JAMH, that’s what we provide.

With over 25 dedicated therapists and counsellors, JAMH offers a safe, secure, and confidential service. We listen. We heal. We save lives.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your support to continue. Your generosity makes it possible for us to stop the pain, to light the way forward for someone in their darkest moments.

When I answer the JAMH phone line, I make sure every person knows their life is worth living. I remind them that hope exists, even in the darkest of times.

By supporting JAMH, you’re not just funding a service—you’re giving hope. You’re giving people the chance to feel heard, to heal, and to see that life can get better.

Please, donate as much as you can. Every contribution helps us change a life—and sometimes, it saves one. Thank you

I’m fundraising for the charity Jewish Action for Mental Health (JAMH) which was founded in 2020.

JAMH provides vital mental health support to the Jewish community all over Manchester. Since launching, they’ve helped over 760 people with therapy and counselling.

I am a volunteer counsellor with JAMH, and I’ve witnessed firsthand how they provide support quickly and efficiently to those seeking help.

JAMH is committed to rapid intervention, matching individuals in crisis with a professionally registered therapist within 48 hours.

This culturally sensitive support helps people feel safer in today’s world. 98% of clients say the service is a lifesaver compared to mainstream NHS options.

The initial government grants are now diminishing, whilst the demand for the service has increased, especially after October 7th.

Every contribution helps support positive change in someone's life - and sometimes, it saves one.

Thank you so much for your support

I’m fundraising for Jewish Action for Mental Health (JAMH), an incredible charity that was founded in 2020 by my sister Dr Sandi Mann. It provides vital mental health support to the Jewish community all over Manchester.

Since launching, they’ve helped over 760 people with therapy and counselling, and 35% of their clients are under 19. The need has intensified, especially after October 7th, and they’re working relentlessly to provide culturally sensitive support which makes people feel safer in today’s world.

98% of clients say this service is a lifesaver compared to mainstream NHS options.

Please, donate as much as you can. Every contribution helps us change a life—and sometimes, it saves one.

Thank you so much for your support!
Steven and Tally.

Jewish Action for Mental Health (JAMH) was established in 2019 following a series of tragic teenage suicides within the Manchester Jewish community. Recognizing an urgent need, we set out to provide free, one-to-one professional therapy for individuals in crisis.

Since then, we have delivered over 7,000 counselling and therapy sessions to Jewish individuals across Greater Manchester, regardless of religious affiliation. That’s more than 760 lives impacted—people who have often suffered in silence until they reached us.

Initially, our work was funded through government support and grants. However, as this funding diminishes, we are now facing waiting lists for our services, at a time when the need has never been greater.

JAMH is committed to rapid intervention, matching individuals in crisis with a professionally registered therapist quickly and efficiently. However to maintain this lifesaving support, we urgently need additional funding.

By investing in the lives of those in crisis today, we can ensure that help is there for anyone in need tomorrow. The Manchester Jewish community is known for its generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to one another. We ask you to join us in continuing this vital work.

Please consider making via the link shared with you. Every contribution brings us closer to providing hope and healing for all who need it.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The JAMH Team and all those whose lives you help to lighten.

Help us continue to Lighten Lives—because every life is worth living.
