The Jnetics ”BREAKTHROUGH” campaign will ensure that we can continue to educate and screen our community about  genetic disorders that disproportionally affect Jewish people, ultimately saving lives .

Our mission is to prevent babies being born into our community with one of the 47 recessive genetic disorders that we screen for, and to educate the and signpost the community about the new NHS BRCA Screening Programme for which anybody with one Jewish grandparent is eligible.

As an organisation we have made some incredible BREAKTHROUGHS over the last 12 months-

  • We have BROKEN THROUGH all sectors of our community by testing for 47 recessive genetic disorders, including disorders found in the Sephardi and Mizrahi audiences as well as those of Ashkenazi descent. 
  • We have BROKEN THE RECORD for screening numbers - Jnetics has now screened over 5,000 young adults for genetic disorders that disproportionately affect the Jewish community. With funding, this number is set to increase for 2023/2024.
  • We are BREAKING THROUGH with the Jewish community’s NHS BRCA screening programme where together with Chai Cancer Care, we have been appointed by NHS England to deliver the engagement campaign informing anyone of Jewish descent about the free BRCA testing.
