{{matcher.matcherNotes}}

Keren was founded in 2018 by Channah Morawiecki, Marianne Debson and Rebecca Abeles. Having supported girls individually for years, they recognised the need for a professional, confidential and bespoke service in the community; thus Keren was born.

After initially providing Keren’s services to only a handful of girls, over the last four years, Keren has grown way beyond their expectations and is now supporting 65 girls aged 12-24 every single week.

As Keren has grown, it has built strong working relationships with Schools, Rabonnim, GPs, Therapists and other relevant organisations in the community. Over the years, these organisations have developed a trust and reliance on our services and frequently refer to us.

We, as a Kehillah, have all become painfully aware of the vital importance of protecting and nurturing the Mental Health of our youth and the difficulty with gaining access to mainstream services. Additionally, many users prefer the cultural sensitivity and understanding we provide. One in six young people today struggle with their Mental Health (1), and we are not immune to this unfortunate reality. Together, we can ensure that young women in our Kehillah are given a chance for a better future, by supporting them right NOW.

Every penny spent on early intervention and prevention is thousands of pounds saved on trying to pick up the pieces down the line, but all these services come at a great cost.

Marianne and Channah work passionately running Keren, and we have a dedicated team of more than 45 Key Workers and volunteer Mentors who give of their time to meet with their girls on an individual basis every week. This is all done with cultural sensitivity,  confidentiality and above all, care.

Keren needs to raise money to continue supporting its girls and to reduce its ever-expanding waiting list, with 55 girls currently desperately waiting for Keren’s support.

A few months ago, Keren secured a house where the girls are able to come and meet with their Key Workers or Mentors in a safe and discreet environment. This property needs renovating in order to accommodate new activity spaces. These will include: Therapy rooms, an art room, homework stations, a music room, a gym, a kitchen, a pets’ corner and a planting area.

We need to raise £360,000 to help us expand our services over the next 12 to 18 months. Therefore, we are asking 1,500 people to give just £10 over the next 12 months to help us answer the cry for help from so many. Every pound you donate will be matched by a group of generous donors who have all committed to this cause to help us reach our goal.

Please donate generously so we can continue to expand our services.

Thank you for supporting us!
