Six years ago, Nivei Shaanon became the first nusach Sefard shul in the Drake/White St. area when it opened its doors to provide a Heimishe Bais Hamedresh to a developing neighborhood.

The shul exists to provide a makom Torah and tefilla that will be central to the lives of its mispallelim and envelope them in warmth. From teffilos to shiurim, kiddeishim to shalosh seudos, avos u'banim and Friday night shiros v'sishbachos, the shul is a place where people of all different types from different backgrounds can feel at home, a shul where all are welcome and a shul where every child feels special.

You can always expect a warm smile and a good word from our Rov, Harav Shimon Kurtz Shlit"a, who is always available to anyone, to answer a shaila, to discuss an issue, or to provide a dose of chizzuk.

About three years ago we were zoicheh to move into our new home, a beautiful Bais Hamedrash with expanded facilities including a large fully stocked Otzar Haseforim, and an expansive Ezras Nashim, which allows us to meet the needs of the kehilla, and become, as its name implies, a true "abode of serenity".

Unfortunately we weren’t able to bring our project to completion and our beautiful new Bais Medrash remained unfinished, the mikvaos our neighborhood so desperately needed, remained unopened, leaving a void in our community.

We have now BH been able to restart the construction efforts, have since beautified the shul with a spectacular Aron kodesh and finishings.

We have completed and opened our mens  mikvah to the excitement of the entire neighborhood.

We are now at the brink of opening our beautiful state of the art mikvah tahara, the only one in our immediate neighborhood.

All this came with a tremendous financial burden to the shul and to the dedicated individuals that devoted themselves to making this dream a reality.

We now need your help to allow this project to come to full completion,
enabling us to bring kedushah and tahara to our community, and to make a true makom Torah and Tefilla to uplift our community.
