The Johannesburg Jewish Helping Hand (Chevrah Kadisha) is the largest Jewish welfare NPO in Africa. We care for 1 in every 5 Jews left in Johannesburg with every human psychological and welfare need, from cradle to grave. Abandoned by our government, the Chev has stepped-up as the privatised Jewish welfare service. 70% of our $20 million budget must be privately raised. While welfare financial distributions to the community have increased 71% in three years,  our donor pool has continued shrinking due to emigration.
