Rhinos are under attack. They are being poached at a rate of more than one a day.

Preserving rhinos for future generations is something I care deeply about and I believe it is a responsibility we all share, so please WILL YOU JOIN ME in the charge to protect this magnificent species?

Rhinos are such an important part of our natural and cultural heritage, we owe it to future generations to ensure they do not disappear forever.

With your help, we can defend them and help protect them from the threat of poachers.

Thank You.

Helping Rhinos is a conservation organization who has been protecting rhinos in their natural habitat from poachers for over a decade.  Their remarkable dedication to protect rhinos, speaks volumes of their mission to ensure a future for these spectacular creatures.  But rhinos are under attack and they desperately need our help.  More than one rhino a day is killed for its horn. It is possible that in our lifetime, the rhino will become extinct.

This weekend, from June 30th – July 2nd, I have signed up as a Rhino Champion for Helping Rhinos in a match giving campaign to raise critical funds to protect the magnificent rhino.  Will you join me in this charge?

“We must protect the unprotected, care for the uncared for, and speak for the voiceless. We must give all animals a chance to live a life.”

I just returned from South Africa and learned first hand about the complex situation surrounding rhino poaching and I am ON FIRE to make a difference for these incredible animals. Will you please JOIN ME in the change to protect rhinos?

Some Facts:

1. Rhino gestation is 16 - 18 months and rhino calves stay with their mothers at least 3 years -

2. The world loses one rhino a day to poaching

3. Rhinos are poached for their horns only - rhino horn is made of keratin like your fingernails and hair

4. Rhinos are an umbrella species which means they help create a network of creatures and habitat that supports many other species

5. Rhinos have been on this planet for 40 million years

In South Africa I got to spend time at a rhino orphanage and experience rhinos up close. I felt their strong lips as I fed them pellets, I snuggled a small baby that missed his mom and needed physical comfort, I heard the delicate squeals rhinos communicate with and I saw how incredibly complex, sensitive and unique these animals are.

Your donation CAN make a huge difference. Your donation will go directly to anti-poaching units (staff and equipment), k-9 training and support and tactical gear and equipment (like drones, radio collars, vehicles). Your donation will help reserves expand and create protected habitat (converting farms and ranches) and your donations will help care for the rhino orphans that rely on 24 hour protection and milk and medical care. ANY AMOUNT HELPS.

WILL YOU JOIN ME in the charge to protect this magnificent species? With your help, we can defend them and help protect them from the threat of poachers. With your help this can be a watershed moment where we change the tide of loss and improve our world. Wouldn't you be proud to know you were part of a positive world change?

Thank You with all my heart,

Kenda Francis

As you know I have been supporting Helping Rhinos for a number of years and you will have picked

Up from our conversations that this goes a long way towards supporting my passion of the African bush and wildlife. The pressure of the population and poaching increases has put the RHINO at the forefront of trying to keep this passion alive not only for me but for all of us who have an interest in maintaining a natural balance in the wild.

Thank You

“It is so easy to do nothing ….”

In August 2020 I published my first Mazimba Berry Tree book, and Helping Rhinos was one of the two chosen charities that it pledged royalties to.

While thinking about this appeal I came across a letter that I composed explaining my motivation for writing the book, and I found the words ring so true for this appeal.

“The roughly whitewashed sticks and stones, so reminiscent of bones in the dust, were a totally unexpected sight. Yet seeing them on my afternoon game drive in Madikwe, near the Botswana border in my country of birth, South Africa, provoked such profound emotions.

Surprisingly, it was not the anger at the poachers, nor the dismay that my grandchildren may never see a rhino in the wild. It was the painful recognition that I would drive past the temporary memorial to rhinos lost and do nothing about it.”

It is indeed so easy to be dismayed and angered about the frighteningly cruel and imminent extinction of a species … and then do nothing about it.

Please do something …. support this cause in whatever way you feel willing and able to do so, either through a donation, or sharing this link, or just spreading the message that the entire species of Rhinos are being pushed closer and closer to the cliff of extinction.

Thanks so much.
Jeff

Helping Rhinos is protecting some of the world’s most critically endangered populations of rhino. We must act now or these magnificent creatures may face extinction.

Every day, rhinos are being slaughtered for their horns, leading to a devastating decline in their populations. In the Kruger National Park, only 2,607 southern white rhinos and 202 black rhinos remain, a drastic reduction of 79% and 50% respectively over the past 20 years.

Helping Rhinos is an international charity who work with expert conservationists to create and expand Rhino Strongholds; ecosystems where sustainable populations of rhino and other critically endangered wildlife can thrive. By protecting the rhino and conserving their natural habitat we are securing rich biodiverse environments for the long-term and helping local communities to benefit and prosper from their natural heritage.

Your support will enable us to continue helping rhinos.
