For over 20 years, Shmeichel has been bringing light into the lives of children and adults facing illness. What began as a simple dream — to provide entertainment and emotional relief to bedridden patients — has grown into a flourishing network of kindness, comfort, and joy.

Shmeichel steps into the lives of those who are ill, supporting and strengthening them to face their challenges with laughter and cheer. By reducing social isolation and helping ease anxiety and depression, we offer more than distraction — we provide hope, connection, and moments of genuine happiness.

We help patients momentarily forget gruelling treatments, hospital routines, medical procedures, and appointments that have sadly become daily occurrences. In doing so, we allow not only the patient, but the entire family, to smile and laugh again.

Our extensive library includes MP3 players, DVD players, hundreds of Yiddish DVDs, iPads, Game Boys, Nintendo consoles, virtual reality headsets, and more — whatever can brighten a patient’s day and transport them beyond the hospital walls.

In addition, we distribute daily treats — from danishes and chocolates to summer ice creams — for both patients and devoted hospital staff, spreading warmth and appreciation throughout the wards.

At its heart, Shmeichel is the cheer-up squad — delivering the greatest medicine of all: a smile.
