About Special Spirits

Special Spirits, based in Manchester, provides a wide range of programmes and activities for children and young people with special needs, and for their families. We run over 25 services every week for 60+ children with a wide range of disabilities, and their families too. No family is left to manage these challenges alone.

Our programmes include after-school clubs, Sunday trips, sleep-away camps, day camps, Shabbatons, birthday parties, Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations, family support and more. Children build friendships, supported by dedicated 1:1 keyworkers, and over 180 volunteers give their time each week. Our services aren't a luxury — they're a lifeline for families who simply want to live life like everyone else.

We're expanding

As the children we support grow up, their needs don't stop — so neither do we. We are opening a full-day employment centre for young disabled adults, and soon, a residential home for young adults too.

Help us build our future home

We own the land our current services run on, and have exchanged contracts on the land behind it and a 13-flat building next door — space we urgently need to expand into our new employment centre and residential home. We're now fundraising to complete this purchase, and every donation brings us closer to giving these young adults a permanent home to grow, work and thrive in
