Yad Vashem UK

Remembering the past, honouring the memory, shaping the future.

Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID pandemic, our biennial fundraising event has gone online, and we are so grateful that you have joined us. Yad Vashem UK raises vital money to support and promote the valuable work of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, in documenting the Holocaust, preserving survivor testimonies, and educating future generations to counter antisemitism and Holocaust denial.

We in the UK are here to ensure that Holocaust education is promoted, by annually sponsoring 20 UK educators to attend a Teachers Seminar at the International School of Holocaust Studies. We promote Yad Vashem’s educational philosophy through our unique travelling exhibitions, Holocaust learning resources and the use of Yad Vashem survivor testimony films and world- renowned historians and speakers. We encourage people to become Guardians of the Memory of named victims of the Holocaust so that they will never be forgotten, or their existence denied. Through our Barmitzvah and Batmitzvah ‘twinning’ projects, we remember the Jewish child victims of the Holocaust denied the chance to celebrate this milestone.

Throughout the pandemic, even though Yad Vashem’s doors have been forced to close, it has continued its excellent online educational programmes  with world class speakers and educators, reaching out to thousands of people. Yad Vashem has also promoted moving survivor testimony films online as part of their Witness and Education series, to ensure the survivors’ oral histories are honoured and remembered.

Over the next 36 hours we aim to raise £180,000 to achieve our education and Holocaust remembrance goals, and will share with you our vision of the valuable work done by Yad Vashem UK  in supporting and promoting Yad Vashem.
