The Unthinkable Has Happened Again

Our response is through active protest and meaningful education. As antisemitism surges exponentially, the UK government stands together with its UK Jewish community to fight racism, propaganda, and hate speech.

Yad Vashem UK raises money to support and promote the valuable work of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, in documenting the Holocaust, preserving survivor testimonies, and educating future generations, to counter antisemitism and Holocaust denial.

We in the UK promote Holocaust education by annually sponsoring over 20 UK teachers and educators to attend a Teachers Seminar at the Yad Vashem International School of Holocaust Studies.

We promote Yad Vashem’s educational philosophy nationwide through our promotion of 8 of their unique travelling exhibitions, Holocaust learning resources placed in schools, the use of Yad Vashem survivor testimony films, and hosting presentations by world-renowned relevant historians and speakers.

We encourage people to become Guardians of the Memory of named victims of the Holocaust so that they will never be forgotten, or their existence denied. There are currently 3,650 Guardians of the Memory.

Through our Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah ‘twinning’ projects, we remember the Jewish child victims of the Holocaust denied the chance to celebrate this milestone. We provide a well formulated educational programme for those twinning with them now. 1,600 Bar Mitzvah boys and Bat Mitzvah girls have been twinned by us to date.

Working closely with the International Sculptor Frances Segelman we have arranged for [8] sculptures of Holocaust survivors to be produced by her as part of her Holocaust survivor series; to ensure the memory and legacy of these survivors are captured as a work of art for future generations. The bust she produced of Sir Ben Helfgott was gifted by us to the National Portrait Gallery and is now on permanent display there.

The Yad Vashem UK book club holds Holocaust related book review events each year, facilitated by either the author or an educator. They are held virtually over Zoom and are well attended.

Thank you so much for partnering with us - your donation will have a direct and immediate impact in our fight against antisemitism.
