Phyllis Tuckwell are raising funds through a 36-Hour appeal to build a new state-of-the-art hospice. We would greatly appreciate your support in helping us, so the local community can benefit from this fantastic new facility, now and for the future.

Phyllis Tuckwell’s old building was lovely, but no longer suitable to provide modern healthcare, with small rooms, narrow corridors and failing infrastructure. Also, with a growing and aging population, more of us than ever will need specialist care at the end of our lives, 80% in fact.

Phyllis Tuckwell is the only provider of specialist end-of-life care in our part of Surrey and Hampshire. They support one in three of us in our area who are facing a terminal illness, so, this new hospice, which will help thousands more people, is up to all of us to help make it happen.

The building of this new hospice will receive no Government or NHS funding, and therefore needs our help to make this fabulous new facility a reality.

It’s not Phyllis Tuckwell’s new hospice, it’s YOURS!

Every donation made in these 36 hours will be doubled up to the campaign goal of Β£420,000 by some generous Phyllis Tuckwell match donors, so let’s do this!

Farnham Lions Club

The members of Farnham Lions Club are delighted to be supporting the fundraising for Phyllis Tuckwell’s 36-Hour appeal to help them raise funds to build a new state-of-the-art hospice. Phyllis Tuckwell, Hospice Care is a charity which we have supported over many years and is close to all of our hearts. As a club we have agreed a donation of Β£16,000 and we’d greatly appreciate your support in helping to raise even more, so the local community can benefit from this fantastic new facility, now and for the future.

I’m fundraising for Phyllis Tuckwell’s 36-Hour appeal to raise funds to build a new state-of-the-art hospice.

Following a career in marketing and communications, for the past 12 years I have worked at Phyllis Tuckwell - a local charity very close to my heart. My first wife Gill received their care, and having lived in the Farnham area all my life, I’ve lost count of the number of friends who have sadly needed their care at the end of their lives. Helping create communications for them has been an absolute privilege, so I am hoping I can now go the extra mile and help them raise money to build a much-needed new hospice. And I really need your support.

Phyllis Tuckwell’s old hospice building was lovely, but no longer suitable to provide modern healthcare, with small rooms, narrow corridors and failing infrastructure.

Also, with a growing and ageing population, more of us than ever will need specialist care at the end of our lives – in fact, 1 in 3 of us in our area, who are facing a terminal illness. So this new hospice will help thousands more people in the local community, now and in the future.

Phyllis Tuckwell is the only provider of specialist end-of-life care in our part of Surrey and Hampshire. We’re not receiving a penny of NHS or Government money for this build, so it is up to all of us to help make it happen.

It’s not Phyllis Tuckwell’s new hospice, it’s YOURS!

To make your donation even BIGGER...every donation we make in these 36 hours will be DOUBLED by some generous Phyllis Tuckwell matched giving donors, up to the campaign target, so let’s help build it!

Having worked at Phyllis Tuckwell for the past 11 years, I still get a sense of pride working alongside so many colleagues who have such an overwhelming commitment to ensuring that the best possible care and support is delivered to our patients and their families when they need it.

It’s now been 5 years since I took on a mountain with my work colleague Dave. We conquered the tough 4-day Tour de Mont Blanc trek through three countries, raising over Β£10,000 in memory of Daves wife Sandra, and there’s now another mountain to climb within our local community as Phyllis Tuckwell embark on the construction of a brand new, state of the art hospice. The thought of being able to contribute to a cause that has supported so many people in my local area, including some of my close friends, and knowing that this appeal will help to continue giving this support, is a great feeling.

As part of Phyllis Tuckwell’s New Hospice Appeal, I am joining in with a 36-Hour matched giving campaign on the 19th and 20th May which will help directly fund the new Hospice build. All donations received between 10.00am Sunday 19th and 10.00pm Monday 20th will be doubled by our generous matched funders up to the campaign target.

This new hospice will receive no Government or NHS funding, and therefore needs our help, so please do give whatever you can  to make this fabulous new facility a reality.

A group of amazing Phyllis Tuckwell staff known as the THE TUCKWELL TREKKERS are β€œgoing walkabout” on Sunday 19th May, to help raise funds for the β€˜Your New Hospice Appeal’.

The team will be heading off from Headway House in Farnham (one of our temporary locations) at 9:30am and trekking to Kings Lodge in Camberley (approximately 13 miles), to our temporary In-Patient unit.

One of our colleagues, who will be on holiday, is even walking from Slovenia to Italy with her husband to support the campaign!

As many of the walkers work at Phyllis Tuckwell, they see the support and care given to our patients and families first hand, every day, and how important our work is within our community.

Phyllis Tuckwell’s β€˜Your New Hospice Appeal’ is to raise funds to build a new state-of-the-art facility.

The sponsorship we raise by completing our β€˜half marathon’ (because that’s what it is!!) will be matched by some very generous donors, meaning that every pound raised you donate (up to the campaign goal of Β£420,000) will be doubled so a great opportunity to support the THE TUCKWELL TREKKERS!

I have worked at Phyllis Tuckwell for nearly 15 years, and have absolutely loved working here. More than anything I have enjoyed the privilege of being able to get to know some amazing patients and thier families and to provide specialist palliative medicine that has brought them comfort, and improved their quality of life.

It's not in my nature to ask people to support in this way, but we do need your help to build a New Hospice for the local community. And thanks to the genoriusty of local people over the next 36 hours any money you can afford to give will be doubled!

We need this new hospice because the local population is growing and ageing. In fact by 2040 the  number of people requiring palliative and end of life care will have increased by 40%. On top of that the old building, which we dearly loved, was sadly no longer fit for purpose.

Narrow corridors, cramped rooms and broken infrastructure made every day a struggle for our dedicated teams. We urgently needed to build a New Hospice, to meet future demand and to be able to povide patients and families with the high quality care, and the dignity and respect, that they deserve at the end of thier lives.

Phyllis Tuckwell is the only provider of specialist end-of-life care in our part of Surrey and Hampshire. In the future one in three of us in our area who are facing an advanced or terminal illness will need it.

Whilst 25% of our operational costs are covered by the NHS their is no government or NHS funding for the building of the New hospice which will be a vital healthcare facility for the local community.

Every donation made in these 36 hours will be doubled up to the campaign goal of Β£420,000 by some generous Phyllis Tuckwell match donors, so let’s do this!
