Established in 2002, SPLASH is a grassroots organization led by parents of children with disabilities.SPLASH provides holistic, child-centred support, and has been a game changer for children with disabilities/additional needs. SPLASH activities focus on developing these children's skills, while simultaneously providing their families with crucia respite, and emotional and practical support, throughout the year.   
DAILY ACTIVITIES AT SPLASH:
Our services include a Daily After School Club, weekend entertainment with separate programmes
for our older-boy club, supervised IT sessions at our onsite IT Suite, weekly trampolining, weekly
wall-climbing, and horse-riding therapy. These activities support 75 + children with disabilities and their families during term time, fostering their emotional and physical well-being while providing much-needed respite for parents.
 
SIBLING SUPPORT:
Siblings often bear extra responsibilities and face a lack of individual attention due to the complex needs of their special-needs siblings. This year, SPLASH has expanded its Sibling/Young Carer Club, and provided a super fun-filled year of events, trips and programmes which offered them a chance to release tension, feel privileged, and gain support, validation, and friendship from one
another.

PARENT SUPPORT:
Parents of children with disabilities face additional stress and pressures. SPLASH runs a parent
support group offering advice, peer support, pampering events, and specialized guest speakers who
fill these parents with inspiration, hope and positivity, and helps them cope with their daily
challenges.
 
The tremendous support from the Kehilla of Gateshead has been invaluable, with our Annual
Walkathon being our primary fundraiser. The loyal participation of many Kehilla Members, and the
palpable excitement in Gateshead as the Walkathon date draws near encourages us to continue splashing our colour, to brighten up the lives of all in the community who could do with our support.
 
Once again, we are thrilled and grateful to welcome our devoted walkers, new and old, whose
passion for our cause will ensure that we can continue offering our valuable support to these special
children and their families.
